Such is the nature of trauma with its 'repetition-compulsion’ impact on our psyche. Whether it be images of violence or beauty, tragedy or selfless heroism, our minds are indelibly imprinted by the vivid re-imaginings of those events.
Keep in mind that visualization is a powerful tool of reinforcement.Over time we tend to create 'stories' in our mind to fit those images, often creating a fine line between reporting the facts and projecting our own traumatized beliefs.
Just make sure the images you expose yourself and your loved ones to are the stories you’d want to remember for decades to come.
